Hi, I'm Allison
I am the face behind Allison Cheng Photography. I was brought into this side of the photography world by my gymnastics community and couldn't be more grateful for the opportunities my career has led me to.
I am a
wife, dog mama, and rock climber. I was born in Lake Jackson, Texas, and moved to the northeast when I was 9.
I've been documenting moments, milestones, and memories since 2015. And I have to say, it truly has been an honor in doing so. I like to think of my style of photography as candid/lifestyle. I don't want to interrupt your moments. I want to capture your life as it is. With all of its grace, beauty, and beautiful messiness is has to offer.
10 things about me
One. I was a competitive gymnast 16+ years ago (don't do math, I'm old!)
two. My first time photographing was by accident, on the national floor. I was 19
Three. I used to have a wildly thick southern accent.
Four. My favorite color has always been blue.
Five. I originally picked up my camera to hang out, and spend time with my dad.
Six. One of the greatest pieces of advice I've ever received was:
it's none of your business what others think of you
Seven. I actually love the editing process of my weddings, and I look forward to my early mornings in the living room with a chick flick movie, and warm cup of coffee to go with it!
Eight. The proudest moment I ever had was having a cereal box with my work on it being sold on the SAME shelf as my dad's with his work on it. THAT was a star struck moment.
Nine. There is an 8 week period from May 1st to the end of June where I am home for a total of about 8 days. #GymnasticsSeason
Ten. I got my husband to notice me by "falling 30 feet from the sky" while rock climbing because I thought he was cute and didn't know how else to talk to him. I figured, a good opening liner was whipping in the lead cave. Never did I think we'd be married, and starting our little family three years later. ♥️
